The Edmonton Oilers placed forward Will Acton on waivers Wednesday for the purpose of sending him to AHL Oklahoma City.

Acton, 27, has appeared in three games for the Oilers this season, going scoreless with five penalty minutes and a minus-2 rating. He played in Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to the Flyers, getting just over nine minutes of ice time.

The son of Edmonton associate head coach Keith Acton, Will came to the Oilers in July of 2013 to reunite with Dallas Eakins -- the two were together with the AHL Marlies for three seasons. Acton appeared in 30 games last year for Edmonton, scoring three goals and five points.
