Going five games without a point isn’t terribly newsworthy for most players, but for Alex Ovechkin it represents the worst slump of his career. That’s in the past though.
Ovechkin helped Marcus Johansson find the back of the net midway through the first period of tonight’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning:
Ovechkin now has five goals and seven points as he plays through his 10th game of the season. Before the drought ended, he didn’t seem particularly bothered by it.
“It’s kind of special when you do something out there, but I’m still getting chances but I didn’t score,” Ovechkin said, per CSN Washington.
