He was denied earlier in the game, but wouldn’t be in the third period.
Johnny Gaudreau scored what would be the eventual game-winning goal for the Calgary Flames, as they defeated the visiting Nashville Predators by a final score of 4-3.
There was a sudden outburst from the Flames, as they scored three times in a span of four minutes and one second early in the third period to take the lead and hold on from there.
Gaudreau, who is listed at only 5’9″ and 150 pounds, capped it off. He was able to keep the puck on a rush into the Nashville zone, then beat Pekka Rinne with a wrist shot, top corner from a sharp angle.
Here’s the video of that goal:
Now, much earlier in the game is when Gaudreau really put on a show.
Gathering speed through the neutral zone, he put an absolutely gorgeous inside-out move on defenseman Anton Volchenkov, got in alone but couldn’t finish the play off on the breakaway chance. But what an electrifying move? Just fun to watch, especially at full speed.
