Rangers lose blueliners Ryan McDonagh, Kevin Klein

Ryan McDonagh

If the New York Rangers manage to win tonight, it will be a costly two points. Defensemen Ryan McDonagh and Kevin Klein were injured in the first period and are done for the night.

McDonagh was smashed into the end boards by Evander Kane. The Rangers announced that he has a separated shoulder.

You can see that incident below:

Klein was limited to just 1:14 minutes before he left the contest with a foot contusion due to a blocked shot.

Prior to tonight’s contest, McDonagh averaged a team-high 25:25 minutes per game. Klein had averaged 18:44 minutes. The Rangers were already missing blueliners Dan Boyle and John Moore is serving a suspension.
