The Edmonton Oilers suffered a 4-1 loss to the Nashville Predators last night, but they got some good news after the game. Goaltender Viktor Fasth is ready to rejoin the team after spending roughly two weeks on the sidelines with a groin injury.

Fasth, 32, got off to a rough start this season along with the rest of the Oilers, but now that he’s back he’ll battle for starts with Ben Scrivens. The Oilers announced that 27-year-old goaltender Richard Bachman will return to AHL Oklahoma City.

Forward Luke Gazdic will head to the minors with him, but Gazdic will only be there for two weeks to serve out a conditioning stint. He signed a two-year, $1.6 million contract extension with Edmonton over the summer. However, the 25-year-old missed the start of the season due to a shoulder surgery he had in April.

Gazdic had four points and 127 penalty minutes in 67 contests in 2013-14.
