Referee Dave Lewis was the unfortunate victim of bad luck as Wild defenseman Justin Falk’s clearing attempt hit Lewis in the mouth in the first period.
Lewis was bleeding and left the ice for treatment. You can see that incident below:
Wes McCauley is the other referee in tonight’s game between the Minnesota Wild and Boston Bruins. They were tied at 1 going into the first intermission.
Update: The NHL announced that Lewis won’t return to the game. McCauley will serve as the only referee.
