Philly goes back to Sugar Ray
Ray Emery will make his third straight start tonight when the Flyers host the Kings at Wells Fargo. Emery’s streak of consecutive nods began last Wednesday in Pittsburgh, when he backstopped the Flyers to a 5-3 win, then continued on Saturday when he made 35 saves in a win over Detroit (in which Philly was badly out-shot, 37-17.)
On the year, Emery has a 2.60 GAA and .914 save percentage, superior numbers to those of the struggling Steve Mason (0-3-1, 3.83 GAA, .878 save percentage).
As for the Kings, they’ve yet to announce a starter but it sounds as though Jonathan Quick is likely.
