The Minnesota Wild started the second period of their game against the New York Rangers on a lengthy power play after Chris Kreider was handed a major penalty and a game misconduct for boarding defenseman Jonas Brodin.
On the man advantage, Zach Parise received an inadvertent high stick from Rangers’ defenseman Marc Staal.
Parise was cut badly and left the game for repairs. There was no penalty on the play.
Update: Parise has since returned to the game sporting stitches under his nose.
