Carl Gunnarsson will make his Blues debut tomorrow in Dallas, St. Louis coach Ken Hitchcock told reporters today.
Gunnarsson was traded from Toronto in the offseason. But before then the 27-year-old defenseman had hip surgery, which eventually cost him the first seven games of the 2014-15 campaign with his new team.
Hitchcock hasn’t said where Gunnarsson will slot into the lineup, or which defenseman he’ll be be paired with.
It may be that Gunnarsson gets eased into things on a bottom pairing with either Barret Jackman or Jordan Leopold, whichever one isn’t a healthy scratch against the high-flying Stars. (If we had to bet, it’ll be Leopold sitting.)
Update:
Hitch said there was a possibility that the #stlblues could go with 7 defensemen tomorrow. All depending on health.
