Ex-Wild, Devils forward Palmieri returns to Germany

Nick Palmieri

Nick Palmieri is headed back to Europe.

Germany, specifically -- on Monday, DEL club Schwenninger announced they signed the former New Jersey and Minnesota forward to a deal, bringing Palmieri back to Germany for the second time in as many years (last season, he spent time with EHC Red Bull Munchen.)

Palmieri, 25, was New Jersey’s third-round pick at the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and scored a career-high 17 points in 43 games for the Devils during the 2010-11 season. He later landed Minnesota as part of the Marek Zidlicky trade and appeared in nine games for the Wild during the 2011-12 campaign, averaging over 10 minutes per.

This fall, he was in Ottawa’s camp on a PTO and released just prior to the start of the regular season.
