The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated goaltender Curtis McElhinney off injured reserve and reassigned Anton Forsberg to Springfield of the American Hockey League.

McElhinney suffered an upper body injury after teammate Nick Foligno crashed into him during a 3-2 loss in Ottawa Oct. 18.

Forsberg, 21, did not play in two games since being recalled by the Blue Jackets on October 19. He is 1-2-0 with a 2.36 GAA and a .921 save percentage in three games with Springfield this season.

In other injury news, forward Cam Atkinson hasn’t ruled himself out of action when Columbus visits the L.A. Kings this afternoon.

#CBJ Cam Atkinson hasn’t ruled out playing Sun. But right eye - as you may have seen - is swollen shut, so he’s doubtful vs. #LAKings..

Atkinson’s right eye is severely swollen after his eyelid was cut by the skate of Anaheim Ducks center Ryan Kesler on Friday night.
