Defenseman Jyrki Jokipakka has been recalled by the Dallas Stars the club announced Sunday.

Jokipakka, 23, has a goal in three games with the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars this season.

Last season, Jokipakka had five goals and 21 points in 68 regular season games with Texas. He added five assists in 21 playoff games as Texas captured the Calder Cup. Jokipakka, the Stars seventh-round selection at 2011 draft, has yet to make his NHL debut.

Jokipakka will likely replace defenseman Patrik Nemeth, who suffered an arm laceration in Saturday night’s loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. Nemeth is out indefinitely.

Additionally, the club placed Valeri Nichushkin (groin) on Injured Reserve.
