Say this about John Scott: through two games as a Shark, he’s certainly made an impact.
Scott, who joined San Jose this summer in an oft-criticized free agent move, knocked Isles forward Mikhail Grabovski out of Thursday’s game with a big hit midway through the opening frame:
Tonight was Scott’s second game as a Shark; he scored in his team debut against Washington on Tuesday, logging 6:36 TOI.
Grabovski, who was in some clear discomfort following the hit, didn’t play for the remainder of the opening frame. While the Isles haven’t updated his status yet, he wasn’t out to start the second period.
No penalty was called on the hit.
Update: Unsurprisingly, the Isles have ruled out Grabovski for the remainder of the night with an upper-body injury.
