New York Islanders forward Mikhail Grabovski left Thursday’s game against the San Jose Sharks after taking a heavy hit from enforcer John Scott.

However, according to a Twitter report from Arthur Staple of Newsday Long Island, the injury does not appear to be a concussion.

The hit occurred late in the first period and Grabovski was in obvious pain while down on the ice. He played only 3:11 of the game.

The 30-year-old Grabovski was handling the puck, pivoted to his right and was suddenly in the oncoming path of Scott, who stands 6'8" tall and 260 pounds.

The Islanders did come away with a 4-3 shootout victory, improving their record to 4-0 to begin the season.
