Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will miss his second straight game tonight in Arizona as his Oilers try for their first win of the season.

Nugent-Hopkins was hurt Saturday in Vancouver. While the nature of the injury hasn’t been disclosed, head coach Dallas Eakins insisted it wasn’t suffered during a rare fight with Canucks defenseman Dan Hamhuis.

“He took a big hit right before the fight and took a few whacks as well during the game,” said Eakins, per the Edmonton Sun. “He’s kind of bruised up all over.”

Nugent-Hopkins had shoulder surgery in April of 2013, but managed to play all but two games (the first two of the season) in 2013-14.

Jordan Eberle (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision versus the Coyotes.
