The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated forward Brian Gibbons off injured reserve and assigned him to AHL Springfield.

Gibbons, who missed the first three games of the regular season with what the club called a lower-body injury, had to clear waivers before being sent down.

The Jackets signed Gibbons to a one-year, two-way contract in July. The 26-year-old Boston College product had five goals and 12 assists last season for the Penguins.
