Flyers’ Lecavalier out two weeks, Morin sidelined for at least a month

New Jersey Devils v Philadelphia Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers announced that Vincent Lecavalier will be sidelined for about two weeks while prospect Sam Morin is expected to miss about four-to-five weeks. Defenseman Nicklas Grossmann also missed practice with a stomach virus.

Lecavalier, 34, is dealing with a lower-body injury. Morin, 19, suffered a fractured jaw while playing at the junior level with Rimouski Oceanic.

After drawing plenty of trade rumors (particularly during the summer), Lecavalier began the 2014-15 season on a strong note, scoring a goal and two assists in three games. His issue might be foot-related, to be a bit more specific.

It sounds like jaw surgery is in the cards for Morin, who was sent back to junior on Oct. 3. Here’s video of his unfortunate injury:

As mentioned on Saturday, the rest of October presents a rough schedule for the Flyers, so Philly likely hopes that Lecavalier can get back around the end of the month.
