Jake Muzzin’s season debut will have to wait another day as the Los Angeles Kings defenseman isn’t cleared to play against the Winnipeg Jets tonight. He’s been dealing with an undisclosed injury.

The good news is that Muzzin doesn’t think he’ll have to stay on the sidelines for much longer.

“I’ve got to talk to the doctor and see what he says,” he added, per LA Kings Insider. “That’s about it. If he says I’m good to go, then I’m good to go. I feel ready, like I said before, conditioning-wise because I can continue to skate and bag [skate] when I can’t play. If he says ‘yeah it looks ok,’ then OK, we can go.”

Without going into detail about what specifically is bothering him, Muzzin said that he’s not in pain. Kings coach Darryl Sutter previously described the injury as “frustrating” and feels that the 25-year-old defenseman is doing everything he can to return.

The Kings are off to a 0-1-1 start.
