Flyers Luke Schenn looks to bounce back against Habs

As the Philadelphia Flyers get set to host the Montreal Canadiens Saturday night, defenseman Luke Schenn will look to hit the reset button.

Schenn finished a minus-5 in the Flyers’ 6-4 loss to the New Jersey Devils Thursday while his partner Michael Del Zotto was a minus-4.

Two games in, both Flyers losses, Schenn is a minus-6.

“I don’t know what to say,” Schenn told CSN Philly’s Tim Panaccio. “It’s frustrating, but it comes to a point where there’s no point to really even get mad.

“You pick your head up and get back to the drawing board and work hard. I felt good tonight. It’s bounces, bad luck, gaps. You have to have a short memory to move on.”

With Braydon Coburn (undisclosed) and Kimmo Timonen (blood clots) sidelined, there’s more pressure on the Flyers defense, Schenn included, to step up.

“There were some bad bounces and some things we’ve got to clean up,” said Schenn. “Overall, this was just a bad day at the office. I’ve had games like this when things don’t go your way, but to this extent, it’s a tough one to swallow. But the last thing you can do is get [down] and hang your head at this point.”

Ray Emery is expected to make his season debut in goal for the Flyers.

According to TVA’s Renaud Lavoie, Alexei Emelin, who left the third period of Montreal’s shootout win in Washington on Thursday, is out and will be replaced by Jarred Tinordi on the Habs blue line.
