Per various outlets, the Buffalo Sabres have landed yet another marquee NHL event -- the 2016 Entry Draft.

While the reports (see here and here) have yet to be confirmed, it wouldn’t be surprising if they’re proven accurate. The Sabres have also landed the NHL’s annual scouting combine for the next two years.

The announcement for next year’s draft will reportedly take place on Monday, and will feature NHL commissioner Gary Bettman and Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown.

Buffalo hasn’t held an entry draft since 1998. Vincent Lecavalier went first overall that year and the Sabres selected Dmitri Kalinin with the 18th pick in the opening round.
