The San Jose Sharks, who had their championship dreams dashed last spring by the L.A. Kings, are ruining the Stanley Cup banner-raising celebration.

The Sharks jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the second period. They scored twice in the span of 14 seconds - Tommy Wingels with his second of the night and then Matt Nieto - with less than five minutes remaining in the period to increase the lead to four goals.

Kings’ goalie Jonathan Quick was pulled to begin the third period, as per Greg Beacham of the Associated Press.

Certainly not the start Quick and the Kings had been hoping for on such a special occasion. The evening got off to such a great start for the host team, with the raising of their championship banner to the rafters at Staples Center.
