So much for the Colorado Avalanche and exacting revenge against the Minnesota Wild for a playoff loss last spring.

The Wild jumped out to a 5-0 lead by the end of the second period, thanks to four goals in the middle frame. Jared Spurgeon, Zach Parise, Nino Niederreiter and Ryan Suter all scored in that span, basically putting this one well out of reach.

The score wasn’t close. Neither were the shots. Minnesota was outshooting Colorado 38-13 after 40 minutes.
