Another regular season opener, and another Stanley Cup banner to raise for the L.A. Kings.
After winning the 2013-14 Stanley Cup, the Kings celebrated their second championship in the last three seasons on Wednesday before taking on their rivals, the San Jose Sharks.
“When it was over, we showed everyone that Los Angeles is the greatest hockey city in the world,” said Luc Robitaille, one of the great Kings players from previous years and now the club’s president of business operations, as per NHL on NBC.
Here is video of the banner raising ceremony.
And the ideas these players get when it’s their special day with the trophy.
There was a photo of a dog in the Stanley Cup, a player eating cereal out of it. It went water skiing. Ah, the adventures of hockey’s Holy Grail.
