The Dallas Stars rounded out their leadership group on Tuesday, announcing that veterans Trevor Daley and Vern Fiddler would serve as alternates captains this season.

The pair take over from Ray Whitney and Stephane Robidas, who served as alternates last year.

Daley, 30, has spent his entire 10-year career with the Stars, appearing in nearly 700 regular season and 35 playoff contests. Fiddler, 34, has been with Dallas for the last three seasons and -- despite rumblings of him being unhappy last season and requesting a trade -- signed a two-year extension with the club this summer.

The two will join Jamie Benn as part of Dallas’ leadership group this season. Benn was appointed the sixth captain in franchise history prior to the start of last year.
