With forward Brandon Mashinter placed on injured reserve, the Chicago Blackhawks’ 23-man roster has been set.
As you can see, the ‘Hawks will start with 13 forwards, eight d-men, and two goalies. Defensemen Trevor van Riemsdyk, a rookie, and Kyle Cumiskey, back in the NHL after a stint in Europe, both made the club in the wake of the Nick Leddy trade. (You were warned, ‘Hawks fans.)

Also, forward Kris Versteeg suffered a lower-body injury today in practice. His status for Thursday’s opener in Dallas would seem to be in doubt.
Q said Kris Versteeg has a lower-body injury. Said they'll re-evaluate tomorrow but "it didn't look good."
