Canucks send Jensen to AHL

NicklasJensen

The Vancouver Canucks have assigned winger Nicklas Jensen to AHL Utica.

Jensen had two goals and two assists in the preseason, but for now it appears rookie Bo Horvat will grab the one available roster spot for a young Vancouver forward.

Jensen will join winger Hunter Shinkaruk, sent down last week, in Utica.

Vancouver opens its regular season Wednesday in Calgary. At this point, it seems unlikely that Horvat, injured last week, will be in the lineup. Horvat wasn’t skating today at practice. The 19-year-old center is not eligible to play in the AHL; only the NHL or junior.

Both Jensen and Shinkaruk are exempt from waivers.
