The Los Angeles Kings have announced that prospects Justin Auger and Zachary Leslie have agreed to three-year, entry-level contracts.

Auger slipped to the 103rd overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, but he has an imposing 6-7, 227-pound frame. The 20-year-old forward aided in the OHL Guelph Storm’s championship run in 2014 as he posted two goals and seven points in 20 playoff games. Guelph went on to play in the Memorial Cup, but lost in the finals.

Leslie was his teammate in Guelph last season. The 20-year-old defenseman had 14 goals and 50 points in 60 games. He was taken in the sixth round of the 2013 draft.

Los Angeles also came closer to finalizing its roster by sending Jordan Weal and J.F. Berube to AHL Manchester, per LA Kings Insider.

Weal, 22, is coming off of a strong season where he scored 23 goals and 70 points in 76 AHL contests. He’ll try to build on that as he continues his fight to make his NHL debut.

Berube, 23, was always a long shot to make the Kings’ roster given that he would have had to beat out Martin Jones for the backup gig. Berube had a 2.37 GAA and .913 save percentage in 48 AHL games.

The Kings now have 25 players on their roster.
