Journeyman goalie Nathan Lawson has signed with Austrian side Dornbirner EC, the club announced on Thursday.

Lawson, 31, spent last season with the Ottawa organization, appearing in one game for the Sens while spending the majority of his time in AHL Binghamton. His most extensive time in the NHL came during the 2010-11 campaign with the Islanders, where he went 1-4-2 with a 4.06 GAA and .893 save percentage.

This marks Lawson’s first foray into European hockey. Following a collegiate career at Alaska-Anchorage, he bounced around the American and East Coast leagues, which included one really strong season with Montreal’s AHL affiliate in Hamilton in 2011-12 (he had five shutouts that year).
