Canucks defenseman Frank Corrado is “out for a bit” after suffering an upper-body injury last night versus the Coyotes, according to Vancouver coach Willie Desjardins.
“I don’t think it’s bad,” said Desjardins, “but it will be evaluated [Tuesday] and we’ll know more.”
Corrado, 21, was likely headed to AHL Utica to start the season. Unlike the Canucks’ three other bottom-pairing candidates (Yannick Weber, Ryan Stanton, and Luca Sbisa), Corrado doesn’t have to be exposed to waivers in order to be sent down.
Desjardins, by the way, was not particularly pleased with his team’s effort in a 4-2 loss to the Coyotes.
“They outworked us and that’s a concern,” he said.
