Defenseman Jarred Tinordi is fighting to make the Montreal Canadiens’ roster, but he might be forced to miss some time due to his actions Sunday night.
Tinordi appeared to connect with Washington Capitals defenseman Nate Schmidt’s head early in the third period, which flattened Schmidt and led to Chris Brown dropping his gloves in defense of his fallen teammate.
Tinordi was handed five minute majors for elbowing and fighting as well as a game misconduct. You can view what happened below:
As you could see in that video, Schmidt headed to the Capitals’ locker room following the hit.
Washington also lost Jay Beagle to an upper-body injury. The Capitalssaid that he’ll be re-evaluated tomorrow.
