The “early indications” are that the injury to Penguins forwards Beau Bennett “isn’t as bad as it looked,” said Pittsburgh coach Mike Johnston.
That’s good news, because Bennett appeared to be seriously hurt this morning when, according to Johnston, Kasperi Kapanen’s “skate clipped him in the heel and he fell awkwardly.”
Bennett reportedly needed help leaving the ice.
Said Sidney Crosby: “It was kind of a fluky thing, but it looked like he was in a lot of pain.”
The Pens will provide a further update on Bennett later today.
