PHT’s Morning Skate takes a look around the world of hockey to see what’s happening and what we’ll be talking about around the NHL world and beyond.

Cuba Gooding Jr. took part in the Blackhawks’ Shoot The Puck competition during a preseason game against Detroit. He was successful in that endeavor and celebrated by disrobing:

A Philadelphia Flyers fan and Washington Capitals fan decided to embrace their respective love for the rival teams in their wedding. (Washington Post)

Detroit Red Wings coach Mike Babcock thinks Gustav Nyquist might decline from a goals perspective, but not in terms of points. Nyquist had 28 goals and 48 points in 57 contests in 2013-14. (Detroit Free Press)

In retrospect, T.J. Brodie thinks he might have cost Calgary some games last season because he passed the puck rather than take advantage of a scoring opportunity. (Calgary Herald)

Expectations are high for Leon Draisaitl, but he’s trying to avoid losing focus or putting too much pressure on himself. (Edmonton Journal)

Although he’ll likely continue to play as a left winger for now, Tomas Hertl might eventually serve primarily as a center. (CSN Bay Area)
