With training camp right around the corner, contract talks between the Columbus Blue Jackets and their star restricted free agent, Ryan Johansen, are reportedly expected to resume this weekend.

Time, to say the least, is becoming a factor.

From the Columbus Dispatch:

If Johansen, a restricted free agent, isn’t signed by next Wednesday, he will be asked to vacate his space in the Blue Jackets’ dressing room at Nationwide Arena and to stay away from the building.

As noted here, numerous Overhardt clients have missed training camp while trying to come to terms on contracts.

According to the Dispatch, the Jackets and Johansen are “about $3 million apart per season, with the club offering $3.5 million and Overhardt seeking about $6.5 million” on a two-year deal.
