The New York Rangers have signed journeyman Ryan Potulny to a deal with their AHL affiliate in Hartford, the club announced on Thursday.

Potulny, 29, is a veteran of more than 100 NHL contests with the Flyers, Oilers, Blackhawks and Senators. His last big league action came with the Sens during the 2010-11 campaign, and he’s spent the last three years playing for Washington’s AHL affiliate in Hershey.

A former scoring standout at the University of Minnesota, Potulny led the country in goals (with 38) during his final season on a team that included Phil Kessel, Blake Wheeler and Alex Goligoski. His best NHL season came during the 2009-10 campaign, when he scored 15 goals and 32 points in 64 games for Edmonton.
