The Philadelphia Flyers returned a familiar face into the fold on Wednesday, signing Darrol Powe to an AHL deal with its affiliate in Lehigh Valley.
Powe, 29, broke in with the Flyers organization following a four-year career at Princeton, making his Philly debut in 2008. His finest campaign came in 2010-11 — he scored seven goals and 17 points in 81 games, and dressed for 11 playoff contests — but was traded to the Wild following the season.
Powe then spent a season-and-a-half in Minnesota before he was dealt to the Rangers during the lockout-shortened ’13 campaign. He appeared in 35 games for the Blueshirts, including one last season.
