Despite the Plymouth Whalers owning his Ontario Hockey League rights, Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Sonny Milano will maintain his commitment to attend Boston College.
According to Milano, who is listed at 5-foot-11 and 183-pounds, the college route will allow him to better develop physically.
“Less games gives you more time to work out,” he said. “You’re playing against older guys. Just BC as well. It’s one of the better colleges in history, Jerry York is a great coach, he knows what he’s doing. It’s the best way to get to the NHL.”
Milano had 14 goals and 39 points in 25 games with the U.S. National U-18 team last season.
The 18-year-old is currently at the US National Junior Development Camp in Lake Placid, NY.
