Paul Ranger has signed a two-year contract to play in Geneva, Switzerland, according to TSN’s Darren Dreger.

The deal may signal the end of the 29-year-old defenseman’s NHL career, which resumed last year in Toronto after taking three years off for personal reasons, followed by a season in the AHL.

Ranger had six goals and eight assists in 53 games for the Maple Leafs. He played 270 games for the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2005-2010, producing 18 goals and 74 assists.
