New Vancouver Canucks forward Linden Vey officially has a new deal.

Brad Ziemer of the Vancouver Sun reports Vey has accepted his qualifying offer by the Canucks. His one-year two-way deal is worth $735,000 in the NHL and $67,500 if he’s in the AHL.

The Canucks acquired Vey from the Los Angeles Kings on June 28 in exchange for a second-round pick, the 50th overall selection in the 2014 NHL Draft. The Kings chose defenseman Roland McKeown with the pick.

Last season with Los Angeles, Vey made his NHL debut and played in 18 games registering no goals and five assists. Vancouver will be looking to him to provide the depth at center they’ve been seeking. With the Kings being loaded up the middle, finding room for Vey was nearly impossible. The Canucks will hope the Kings’ loss will be their gain.
