Jay Feaster, the GM and part architect of Tampa Bay’s Cup-winning team 10 years ago, is set to rejoin the club next week -- albeit in a smaller front-office role.
Tampa Bay on Wednesday hired former general manager Jay Feaster to serve as executive director of community hockey development.
Feaster served as Lightning GM when Tampa Bay won the Stanley Cup in 2004.
The announcement is expected to be made official Monday when he begins his new role, which will entail working with youth players and leagues to help grow the game at the grass-roots level in the Tampa Bay area.
Feaster has been out of work since being turfed as Calgary GM last December. His name did resurface this spring, though, when he expressed an interest in Vancouver’s vacant GM gig and said he wants back in management.
