The Florida Panthers are adding a little bit of snarl to the lineup.
The Panthers have signed former Boston Bruins tough guy Shawn Thornton to a two-year, $2.4 million deal according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
Thornton is a two-time Stanley Cup winner with the Anaheim Ducks in 2007 and Bruins in 2011 who’ll plug in on the Panthers’ fourth line providing physical play, bench inspiration, and the occasional fight with an opposing tough guy.
Thornton, 36, spent the past seven seasons in Boston and earned some negative attention with his attack on Brooks Orpik this season that earned him a 15-game suspension.
