Boyle has ‘no real timetable’ on negotiating with Islanders

Los Angeles Kings v San Jose Sharks - Game Five

Dan Boyle seems to be in no hurry to talk about a contract with the New York Islanders.

Boyle’s rights were acquired by the Islanders earlier this month, however his current six-year, $40 million deal is set to expire, making him an unrestricted free agent this summer. The former San Jose Sharks defenseman also turns 38 years of age in July.

There was also a report last week stating there was a “very slim to no chance” that Boyle would sign with the Islanders. And then there was the report stating the Toronto Maple Leafs had an interest in the offensive defenseman.
