To keep this Stanley Cup Final series alive, the New York Rangers needed to solve Jonathan Quick. If nothing else, they ended his impressive shutout streak at 123:01 as Benoit Pouliot managed this impressive deflection:

It was essentially a power-play goal for a Rangers special teams unit that badly needed to score, although it technically happened two seconds after Willie Mitchell’s high-sticking penalty expired.

Let’s face it; the Rangers are just happy to get on the board. Now they need to prove they can maintain a lead against the Kings, among other things.
