Joakim Lindstrom is on his way back to North America.

Lindstrom, a veteran of 97 career NHL games that spent the last three years in Sweden, has signed a one-year deal with the St. Louis blues, the club announced on Wednesday.

Per the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the deal is worth $700,000.

Lindstrom, 30, was Columbus’ second-round pick (41st overall) at the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and went onto appear in 37 games for the Jackets, scoring four goals and eight points. From there, Lindstrom had stints in both Phoenix and Colorado, scoring a career-high nine goals and 20 points in 44 games for the Coyotes during the 2008-09 campaign.

Lindstrom has been one of the best scorers in Sweden over the last few years, culminating with a stellar ’13-14 campaign in which he finished second in the Swedish Hockey League in scoring (63 points in 55 games).
