Chicago Blackhawks forward Brandon Bollig was penalized late in the second period of Friday’s game for running Minnesota Wild defenseman Keith Ballard from behind into the glass.
The incident happened with less than three minutes left in the period. Bollig was assessed a minor penalty for boarding. Ballard was clearly shaken up on the play, and was not on the Minnesota bench to begin the third period.

Less than a minute after Bollig was penalized, Minnesota’s Jared Spurgeon was sent to the box for a late hit on Chicago’s Marcus Kruger.
Kruger returned to the Blackhawks’ bench for the third period.
