It was basically a tap-in for Marian Hossa.

The veteran Chicago Blackhawks forward gave his team a 2-0 lead over the Minnesota Wild in the second period of Game 1 of that Western Conference second-round series on Friday. He needed only to flip the puck over the outstretched right pad of Ilya Bryzgalov and into an otherwise open net for the goal.

He capitalized on a pretty passing play from Brandon Saad.

The Wild did cut into Chicago’s lead, making it a 2-1 hockey game early in the third period. Clayton Stoner was credited with the goal, which happened after a scramble in the Chicago crease. Minnesota scored twice in the first seven minutes of the third period to tie the game at 2-2.
