It’s been a while since P.K. Subban rippled the mesh — Mar. 3, to be exact — so it had to be extra sweet snapping that slump against Montreal’s arch rival Boston in the opening game of their second-round series:
The official scoring on the goal was Subban from Andrei Markov and Tomas Plekanec. It’s also worth noting the goal came on the power play, as it was just the third PP marker Boston surrendered this postseason after killing 18 of 20 penalties against Detroit in the opening round.
As for Subban’s productivity — while he hasn’t found the back of the net with regularity, that doesn’t mean he isn’t racking up points. He led the Habs with five assists in their Round 1 sweep over Tampa Bay, and came into the Boston series tied for the team lead in points (five) with Lars Eller and Brendan Gallagher.
