Bishop returns to practice, but ‘no chance’ he plays Game 4

There was a sight for sore eyes at Lightning practice this morning as Ben Bishop took part for the first time this postseason — but any hope of a miracle comeback was quickly snuffed out by head coach Jon Cooper.

This means Tampa Bay will head into Tuesday’s elimination game against Montreal with Anders Lindback as the starter. That in itself presents an interesting narrative — on one hand, the Bolts have to be optimistic given Lindback had his best outing of the series in Game 3, stopping 28 of 31 shots.

The flip side, of course, is that Tampa Bay’s best goaltending performance thus far still resulted in a loss…and a .903 save percentage.

According to the Tampa Times, Cooper intimated the series would need to go at least six games if Bishop had any chance of playing.
