Video: Orpik scores with under two seconds remaining in period

Orpik goal

After the Pittsburgh Penguins fell behind early in Game 3 of their first round series against the Columbus Blue Jackets, they needed something to put them back into this contest.

Defenseman Brooks Orpik delivered, but it might not prove to be enough.

He found the back of the net with under two seconds left in the second period to cut the Blue Jackets’ lead to 2-1 and give Pittsburgh a reason to be upbeat going into the final frame.

You can see that goal below:

“I knew there wasn’t much time left... I knew the guy would go down to block it, so I just tried to wait him out,” Orpik said, per the Penguins’ Twitter.

Orpik is playing in his 90th postseason contest and that was the defensive defenseman’s 15th career point.

The Penguins and Blue Jackets exchanged goals early in the third period to make this a 3-2 game.
