Pittsburgh defenseman Brooks Orpik has no discipline hearing scheduled following his big hit on Chicago captain Jonathan Toews in Sunday’s 4-1 win, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Orpik forced Toews from the contest entirely with under seven minutes to go in the second period, courtesy this blast:
Orpik wasn’t penalized on the play. Toews appeared to be holding his left arm/elbow upon leaving the ice but, following the game, ‘Hawks head coach Joel Quenneville said the staff didn’t feel the injury was serious and that Toews was listed as day-to-day.
