In a move that already-nervous Blue Jackets fans are hoping is merely precautionary, Columbus has recalled goalie Mike McKenna from AHL Springfield under emergency conditions.
The call-up comes after the team’s starter, Sergei Bobrovsky, was forced to leave Tuesday’s 4-2 victory over Detroit after one period, reportedly due to the flu.
If Bobrovsky is unable to play Friday at home to Pittsburgh, Curtis McElhinney should get the starting nod.
Todd Richards said Bobrovsky would be re-evaluated tomorrow a.m. #CBJ have limited recalls post-deadline, so this could be precautionary.
